About us

CHANGE AGENT NETWORK, INC (CAN) is a registered, accredited, nonprofit, non-political and non-governmental Christian-oriented, charitable organization founded by a group of passionate, dedicated and concerned African and American partners. Change Agent Network, Inc. is based in Lafayette, Louisiana USA.

CAN was founded in 2003 at the Oru International Refugee Camp in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, West Africa. This initiative was conceived through the inspiration of Eric Willise Wowoh, a former Liberian refugee. The Republic of Liberia, located on the west coast of Africa, is recovering from a brutal 14-yr civil war.

As a 501 (c) 3 public supported non-profit organization, we are primarily funded by the generous contributions of caring and giving individuals and organizations that believe in our vision and mission.

CAN is interested in networking with people from all walks of life and various fields of professions to constitute positive changes in developing nations, with emphasis on the continent of Africa. Our agents of change are just ordinary people with extraordinary determination to fight social and moral ills and make the ultimate difference in the lives of the less fortunate citizens of our world.

Presently, we are operating only in three countries; Nigeria, Liberia ((West Africa) and the United States of America. Nevertheless, it is our hope, dream and determination to extend our operations to other parts of the world in the near future.

Mission:  To develop and implement diverse initiatives to contribute towards the ethical and peaceful progress of education and life skills development in Africa.

We believe that if Africa is ever going to be a developed, peaceful, stable and prosperous continent in the world; Africans themselves must bring such dream to fulfillment. The outside world can only help.

Vision:  To pioneer the rebranding of the younger generation through educational and mental reformation in Africa. We thus seek to empower and equip young people to take charge of their own lives and destinies based upon Christian values and principles.

                         Goal:

1.      To put into place cost free peacemaking and conflict resolution programs, academic, social and vocational services at all levels for less privileged members of society for capacity and nation building.

2.      To complement the efforts of national governments, non-governmental agencies, corporate and religious institutions in relation to human resource development and youth empowerment programs

MISSION STATEMENT:

We strongly believed that, the solutions to Africa’s present numerous problems lies within the power of God and African themselves. Therefore, our mission is to formulate and execute diverse initiatives to contribute towards peace making and conflict resolution, accountability and progress in the African Continent.

We believe that If Africa is ever going to be a developed, peaceful, stable and prosperous continent  in the world and take her rightful place on the global stage, Africans  themselves must bring such dream to fulfillment. The outside world can only help.
