Life Above Self
I want to welcome you to Life Above Self (LAS). This is the motivational speaking section of our program.
I believe we live in a bleak world today that is full of hopelessness, abject poverty, bitterness, pains, suffering and self-focused lifestyles. Many people nowadays don’t really care about others, the safety and well being of the world they live in. For these kinds of people, life is basically about themselves; how they feel, their desires, their aspirations, making more money and living in their self-made world.
Unfortunately, our post modern generations have been made to also believe this lie that life is all about grabbing all the stuffs and keeping all that they have grabbed. This is a dangerous philosophy that is harming our world and causing a lot of perplexities and conflicts in our homes, communities and indeed the globe.
In my opinion, selflessness is the path to true happiness and success in life. Greatness or success cannot be measured by what one has achieved materially for himself but by the number of lives one has affected positively by true motive. "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." John Maxwell.
Great people that literally affected our world, change policies, re-wrote the laws of the land, transformed lives and made history, did it through selflessness. They were more concern about others than their own little world.
At Life Above Self, my job is to simply share my story as to how God saved me from a brutal civil war, survived refugee crisis for half of my childhood days and presently, my personal efforts in using the little resources at my disposal to make a difference in the lives of others.
The ultimate goal of Life Above Self, is to encourage and motivate people to look at life above themselves and get out of their comfort zones to do something worthwhile with their lives in a confused and disingenuous world.
